Royal Mail Group
Touching Lives, Connecting People

In March 2008, Barnardo’s was successful in a vote of Royal Mail Group employees to become its charity partner for three years.
The Royal Mail Group has committed to support Barnardo’s 394 community based projects across the UK. The vital fundraising, volunteering and awareness raising work of Royal Mail Group’s people will ensure that young people break out of their cycle of poverty and unemployment and begin their journey in life.
Fundraising initiatives so far include payroll giving, with an impressive 600 people already signed up to show their support, Connecting People – giving Royal Mail Group employees and Sub post masters the opportunity to adopt a local Barnardo’s project, foreign coin collections in Post Offices, quizzes, cake sales, parachute jumps, marathons, triathlons and fun runs, amongst many others!
Royal Mail Group employees have also undertaken hundreds of volunteering challenges including DIY and gardening tasks, befriending a young person, CV skills training, day trips for young people and their families, assisting at events and giving up their own time to work in Barnardo’s shops.
We know that with the right help, committed support and a little belief, even the most vulnerable children can turn their lives around. So Barnardo’s is delighted to be working in partnership with Royal Mail Group over the two years.
