Barnardo's Futures

Futures provides accommodation, education and support to young people in Leeds.

Barnardo’s Futures began life as Leeds Accommodation Project in 1996, a partnership between Leeds Social Services and Barnardo’s. Since then, the service has seen many developments and an overall expansion.

We provide:

  • supported lodgings and befrienders for young people leaving care (ages 16 to 21)
  • nightstop for homeless young people (ages 16 to 21)
  • support to adopted young people through supported lodgings and a Connexions Personal Advisor (ages 13 to 25)
  • sexual health and relationships work for boys and young men (ages 12 to 19)

We work with approximately 90 volunteers who have been approved to provide emergency or longer term accommodation, or to befriend young people.

Barnardo's Futures project is a partnership between Barnardo’s, Leeds Social Services, and Leeds housing and also receives funding from Leeds Primary Care Trust, Teenage Pregnancy and Adoption Support Services.
