Barnardo's Futures

Futures provides accommodation, education and support to young people in Leeds.

Barnardo’s Futures began life as Leeds Accommodation Project in 1996, a partnership between Leeds Social Services and Barnardo’s. Since then the service has seen many developments and an overall expansion.

We provide:

  • supported lodgings and befrienders for young people leaving care (ages 16 - 21)
  • Nightstop for homeless young people (ages 16 - 21)
  • support to adopted young people through supported lodgings and a Connexions Personal Advisor (ages 13 - 25)
  • sexual health and relationships work for boys and young men (ages 12 - 19)

We work with approximately 90 volunteers who have been approved to provide emergency or longer term accommodation, or to befriend young people.

Barnardo's Futures project is a partnership between Barnardo’s, Leeds Social Services, and Leeds Housing and also receives funding from Leeds PCT, Teenage Pregnancy and Adoption Support Services
