The Independent Review Mechanism
The Independent Review Mechanism is being operated by BAAF on behalf of the DfES. The Independent Review Mechanism (IRM) is a review process, conducted by a panel, which prospective adopters can use when they have been told that their adoption agency does not propose to approve them as suitable to adopt a child.
