Forward Steps came into our lives at a very difficult time. We were informed that our son had Autism when he was two years old and as a family we felt very vulnerable and unsure as to where we could seek appropriate help and support. Our social worker signposted us to Forward Steps and they fully embraced us; offering not only support, guidance and empathy but, following a comprehensive assessment of his complex needs, with their knowledge, skills and professional expertise they gave structure and routine to our son and provided us with a much better understanding of his autism.

The time, dedication and effort Forward Steps generously provided at such a crucial time in our son’s life cannot be underestimated. Our son’s child centred individualised care plan addressed fully his immediate needs while expertly addressing future hurdles we would encounter.

One to one active intervention was complemented with his participation in the summer scheme giving us, as parents, welcome respite and, more importantly, providing opportunities for K to develop his social, emotional and physical skills.

We will always be grateful to Forward Steps and feel very fortunate that the service was made available to us, and will be there to support us in the years to come. To other parents we gladly and unreservedly recommend Forward Steps.
