Welcome to Barnardo’s Family Placement Unit, we work to provide fostering and adoption placements in the North East.

We hope that this website will give you an opportunity to learn more about adopting or fostering for Barnardo’s. Many people think you need to be special to adopt or foster but what we need is all kinds of ordinary people who like and care about children. We are always interested in talking to people who feel that they are able to provide a safe, stable and caring family life for children and young people.
