Introduction to family group conferences - 1 day

Designed for social workers, teachers, health workers, new co-ordinators, advocates and other service providers likely to attend a family group conference.

Participants will have the opportunity to:  

  • learn about the history and principles of the family group conference model
  • look particularly at the role of the social worker/teacher/health visitor
  • develop the skills needed for providing clear and relevant information to the family group conference
  • consider the role of children and young people in their family group conference and how to get their voices heard
  • debate and discuss any issues and anxieties about the family group conference process
  • learn about a new local project.

This course will be facilitated by two trainers and will involve young service users whenever possible.

Maximum number of participants: 18

Cost per place: £125

(reduction available for bookings of three or more)

We regularly run this course. You can either buy places on this course or negotiate an individual training package to take place in your area. We can also custom build a course for you or link you with another project with similar training needs in order to offer you excellent value for money. For individually tailored courses the cost of providing two trainers for a day is £800 and for two trainers for two days is £1500. This includes travel and subsistence expenses and the cost of venue and catering.
