Getting children's voices heard in planning meetings - 1 day

This course is designed for:

  • social workers
  • family group conference co-ordinators and project managers
  • advocates
  • reviewing officers.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • explore ways of getting children’s voices heard in all their planning meetings including: looked after reviews, child protection conferences, family group conferences, planning and action meetings
  • consider the role of advocates in all the above
  • reflect on the role of the chair in keeping planning meetings child focused.

This course has been very successful when adapted to focus on how teams currently listen to children and how they can improve that in line with recent government recommendations.

Course information

This course will usually be facilitated by 2 trainers and will involve young service users whenever possible.

  • Maximum number of participants: 18
  • Cost per place: £125 (Reduction for bookings of 3 or more)

We regularly run this course. You can either buy places on this course or negotiate an individual training package to take place in your area. We can also custom build a course for you or link you with another project with similar training needs to offer you excellent value for money.

For individually tailored courses the cost of providing two trainers for a day is £800 and for two trainers for two days is £1500. This includes travel and subsistence expenses and the cost of venue and catering.
