Family group conference co-ordinator training
This course will be run as a 2 day course for participants who already have some knowledge or experience of family group conferences and ideally have been on the introduction to family group conference one day course.
The three day course will include material from the introductory day.
2 day co-ordinator training
It would be expected that participants already had some knowledge or experience of family group conferences and ideally had completed the introductory one day course.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- reflect on the background and family group conference model
- consider in detail the role of the co-ordinator
- ensure an equalities approach to family group conferences
- discuss how best to make children and young people central to the process and to consider the role of advocates
- take a critical look at the family group conference process and the co-ordinators role within it
- consider health and safety issues.
Course information
This course will be facilitated by two trainers and will involve young service users whenever possible.

- Cost per place: £200(reduction available for bookings of three or more)
We regularly run this course. You can either buy places on this course or negotiate an individual training package to take place in your area. We can also custom build a course for you or link you with another project with similar training needs in order to offer you excellent value for money. For individually tailored courses the cost of providing two trainers for a day is £800 and for two trainers for two days is £1500. This includes travel and subsistence expenses and the cost of venue and catering.
