What we do

counselling

Barnardo’s East Midlands Family Placement Project is currently looking for foster carers to provide homes for children, aged between 8 and 14 years, who live within the East Midlands area. The children and young people we look after need long term homes that can provide them with a family life, support, stability and security until they reach the age of 18 years or beyond.

Foster Carers

As one of our foster carers you could foster a boy or a girl, or open your home to a sibling group – brothers and/or sisters who need to be able to live together but who cannot live within their own family. If you do foster a sibling group, the age range of the children may be wider, and is quite often younger than 8 years of age.

We would not pretend that the role of a foster carer is anything other than a demanding task but you will have a unique opportunity to give a child or young person the chance in life that every child deserves. But you will be enabled to develop your skills and share your own experiences through training, advice and support.

If you would like to discuss further or find out more please contact us and we will be happy to talk with you about the fostering task or answer any questions you have, with honesty, respect and privacy.

Social Services

We are accredited by the East Midlands Fostering Consortium and is therefore approved by all the local authorities within the region to accept referrals from social services departments. Contact us for more information about how to refer children and young people to the Project or for an informal discussion about a child you think might benefit from a placement with our foster carers. An information pack about the project and referral form is available upon request.
