What we do
Working in a way which is non judgemental, the service aims to empower parents by developing their:
- skills
- their confidence
- their abilities as parents.
This allows their children to get the most out of the educational opportunities available to them.
We aim to help parents to support their children, in order to encourage them to feel settled and secure both at home and at school, overcoming social, emotional and behavioural problems which might threaten their education and future prospects.
The service works with parents of children between 5 to 19 years old.
The service can help with simple issues, such as sourcing information, providing contacts or finding local groups to more complex issues such as:
- school transition
- family relationships
- assistance with implementing new routines.
Referrals can come from schools, other professionals or parents can refer themselves.
