In memory of someone special - in memory donations

A special way to remember friends and loved ones

lighting a candle for your loved ones

A donation to Barnardo’s is a very special way to remember the life of a relative or friend.  It is a thoughtful gift - in honour, and in memory. Your donation will be used to give vulnerable children the chance of a better childhood and a brighter future.

On receipt of donations in memory by post, our practice is to write to the next of kin to let them know we have received the donation. The amounts of individual donations are never disclosed. Please see our postal address below to send donations into.

If you would like to make a donation in memory online please submit the donating in memory online form.

With online donations, we do not ask for details of the next of kin. However if you would like us to write to them informing them of your online donation, please contact us and we will be happy to oblige.

If you have any queries don't hesitate to contact us at inmemory@barnardos.org.uk or call 020 8498 7880.

The Barnardo's in memory event

a commemorative tree in the church

Our first Barnardo's in memory and thanksgiving event last year was a great success and we received very positive replies from our attendees. We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting another event here at Barkingside this December. We will be inviting all in memory donors who wish to be contacted, but please do email us at  inmemory@barnardos.org.uk if you would like to be added to our invite list.

Thank you to all our in memory donors who returned a memorial star for our special commemorative tree. When the tree was placed in Barnardo's Church for the thanksgiving service, the gold stars reflected the stained glass beautifully.

What your money can buy

  • £5 can provide books for 3 to 5 year-olds
  • £10 pays for two days’ food for a child trying to escape abuse through sexual exploitation
  • £20 could pay for a young carer to take a well-needed break
  • £50 can provide special toys and books for two families with severely disabled children
  • £105 pays for a child to have three sessions with a psychologist to overcome the long-term impact of abuse
  • £500 covers the weekly cost of running 10 community youth groups for children living in disadvantaged areas.

Thank you for supporting Barnardo’s in this very special way, and for thinking of Barnardo's at this time.

We wish to make a donation to Barnardo’s in memory of Charlotte Nussey who was a lifelong supporter of Barnardo’s. I hope the enclosed cheque will assist your organisation in continuing the marvellous work it is famous for.
