Tobermore Concrete donates £20,000 to Barnardo’s

For the past eight years Tobermore Concrete has donated money to a variety of charities in lieu of gifts for customers at Christmas and this year for the second year running it chose Barnardo’s as its beneficiary. The donation of £20,000 will go directly to the Barnardo’s ‘Christmas Fund.
Jeanie Rogers, Head of Fundraising for Barnardo’s Northern Ireland said, “This is the second year in a row that Tobermore has chosen Barnardo’s for its Christmas donation and we are very honoured. Without donations such as this from Tobermore there are children out there who would certainly miss out at a time of year when they should be the priority. It really will make a direct difference to children’s lives.”
PricewaterhouseCoopers raises £10,000 for Barnardo's NI.

Staff from PwC raised just under £10,000 for Barnardo’s NI in a recent one-day Christmas fundraising extravaganza. Based at the most recently opened Barnardo’s shop on the Cregagh Road in Belfast, staff from PwC worked their Christmas socks off shining shoes, packing bags, wrapping gifts and singing carols. The fundraiser was part of a national PwC Store Wars competition which saw twenty teams across the UK competing to raise the most money for Barnardo’s – and PwC Belfast won! Congratulations and many thanks to all involved.

Staff at the Merchant Hotel in Belfast were presented with a painting as a thank you for all their hard work in raising over £10,000 for Barnardo’s Northern Ireland during 2009. They held a series of events including fashion teas and football matches. Angela Duffy of Barnardo’s NI made the presentation. The picture was painted by a child who attends one of Barnardo’s Saturday Clubs for disabled children and their siblings in Downpatrick.
