Volunteer

Girl with brown hair | Barnardo's Manchester

Volunteering provides the opportunity to gain valuable experience, meet new people, receive training and support along the way – all whilst helping to make a real difference to vulnerable and disadvantage children.

Barnardo’s doesn’t just need volunteers to work directly with children and young people. In fact, we have a wide variety of opportunities across the organisation and so you are bound to find one that suits your interests.

However you decide to volunteer for Barnardo’s, your contribution will make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people in the Manchester area. What could be more inspiring than that?

As a volunteer with Barnardo’s in Manchester, there are four main types of volunteering opportunities to choose from. You could choose to volunteer:

Volunteer in Community Fundraising
Volunteer with children, young people and families
Volunteer in our offices
Volunteer through your University
Volunteer in Barnardo's Manchester shops

Volunteer in Community Fundraising

We have various volunteer roles in fundraising to suit everybody!  From working with schools or local businesses, there is a flexible role to suit you, including:

•serving customers
•preparing displays
•sorting and preparing stock in the workroom
•keeping the accounts and files in order.

If possible, we would like all volunteers to work a minimum of four hours. Pop into your local branch to find out more or or search our current volunteering opportunities
