Fundraising in the North East
We aim to raise £3 million this year so that we can support the most vulnerable children in the North East.
There are many different ways you can get involved in fundraising:
- get a collection box for your spare change
- get involved with the house to house collection
- enter Barnardo’s prize draw
- host a special fundraising local event
- take unwanted clothes, books, toys and music to your local shop
- register your pre-schoolers for The Big Toddle
- sign up your children’s school for educational fundraising for Barnardo’s
- put forward your employer for team building, payroll giving or volunteering
- ask your college to hold a pub quiz, mega raid or fire walk
- get sponsored to run, cycle, trek or any challenge
- leave a legacy in your will
- set up a tribute fund
- sign up to Gift Aid
- Or you can donate online, by post or at your local post office.

Our fundraising promise
Barnardo’s North East is wholly committed to ensuring that we are completely open and transparent about our fundraising and spending.
In order to secure vital donations, it is necessary to spend money on fundraising. We monitor the costs of our fundraising activity very closely and in the most recent financial year, every £1 we spent on fundraising raised £4.86.
One of our key values is exercising responsible stewardship and we are always honest about where we get our money and the way in which it is spent.
