Our latest Care Ofsted inspection was completed in October 2011, and Spring Hill was once again awarded an overall rating of "outstanding" for the 5th time in a row. The full report can be downloaded from the link above.

The overall quality rating is outstanding.
The outcomes for Children and Young People are outstanding
"All of the young people attend school daily on-site where most are making excellent progress within their age and abilities
Young people benefit from the excellent communication between the staff team and family members. This ensures that consistent and positive contact arrangement with their family and those significant to them are maintained
The Quality of care is outstanding
Young people thrive within the positive, caring and constructive relationships they have with staff and for the majority of the time with each other
Young people's complaints are treated seriously and they feel confident to use this process should they need to.
Young people feel valued, listened to and consulted on all aspect of their care.
Safeguarding children and young people is outstanding
Young people report that they feel safe and are safe. One young person said he 'loved being here where he felt he was safe now'

The school provides the young people with a stable caring environment where they are supported positively to enjoy residential life. Their health is promoted through a well trained team of staff and there is a strong emphasis on healthy eating. "
The approach to safeguarding is excellent and the head of care has established strong professional links with the county safeguarding service. The young people feel very safe living at the school."
The young people are strongly supported to achieve their potential. The school has an open culture where the views of the young people are encouraged in order to make a contribution to life at school. "
The residential units, known as cottages, are well maintained and comfortably furnished providing young people with a safe and supported environment."
The school encourages care and respect for differences in all areas of life. Equality and diversity is actively supported and encouraged."

The interim inspection looked at the progress the school has made with the recommendations arising from the last inspection. These related to training and building maintenance repairs. The head teacher has taken appropriate steps to meet the recommendations."
The organisation and management of care at the school is excellent. Safeguarding the welfare of the young people is a high priority and staff work positively as a team."
Young people enjoy living at the school and they are confident that staff will keep them safe. A notable feature is that unauthorised absences are not a regular occurrence and this is a reflection on the positive caring environment evident at the school."
