You can still download all of the tracks so we can raise much needed funds for Barnardo’s from the Young Songwriters Competition website.
Each track is available to download from Charity Goods and costs 80p; for each track sold 45p will go to Barnardo’s. The songs are also available on iTunes however, the return from iTunes downloads will be lower. (approx 25p)
The final four young songwriters recorded their efforts at Mark Knopflers’ British Grove Studios in London, accompanied by leading UK artists Nick Mason (Pink Floyd) and Ian Matthews (Kasabian).

The competition was open to children aged from 12 to 18 in full time education in the UK. The young composers were invited to write the lyrics and music for an original uplifting composition, and with the help from their school, participants were encouraged to record and submit their material for inclusion in the competition.

Raising money for Barnardo's
The competition - supported by Eliza Doolittle - is designed to allow the creativity in children to be used in a positive way, to showcase their talents and help fundraise for abused, vulnerable and neglected children.
Proceeds from telephone voting, and sales via downloads and CD sales will benefit Barnardo's.
