Barnardo’s has an established reputation of involving children and young people in the development of personalised service provision. We provide an extensive range of services including short breaks and residential care.
Barnardo’s has 53 disability specific services in England, providing a wide range of support, including: short breaks; play and leisure activities; support with employment and participation; and the provision of information to parents and young people.
In 2010, our services across the UK worked directly with 14,417 disabled children and young people. 53% of these young people accessed our mainstream provision, such as Early Years services and children’s centres. The remaining 47% attended our disability specific services.
We also provide residential schooling, residential care and long term fostering and adoption for disabled children and children with SEN who require such options.
