Options Project

Picture of Young Person on Building Site

The Options Project is a consortium between Barnardo’s, Careers Wales and CAIS. The project is funded by the ‘Big Lottery Fund’ and works with Care Leavers aged 16-25 who are NEET (not in education, employment or training). The project works with young people living in Wrexham, Flintshire and North Powys.

The aim of the project is to provide young people with the necessary skills and confidence to access education, employment and training. Structured support and learning gives Service Users the opportunity to gain qualifications and work experience, as well as develop their interpersonal skills.

Young people are enrolled onto a three month structured programme (Elev8) but also benefit from long term one to one support, as well as careers guidance. Young People can also access counselling from a Therapeutic Intervention Worker.
