Barnardo's Compass Partnership

Compass works with those young people in greatest need who are within the Wrexham County Borough and aged 16 to 25.

There are three distinct services:

• Housing Advice and Bond Guarantee Scheme
• Tenancy and Family Support Service
• Family Group Meetings Service

The young people we work with may have experienced abuse, rejection, exclusion and neglect. It is little wonder that their self esteem, coping strategies, confidence and independent living skills are badly affected. Debt, homelessness, and an inability to keep themselves and their children safe, all become more likely unless the right help can be found.

Compass staff across the partnership advise, signpost, befriend and empower over 300 young people annually. This makes a difference to the lives of young people and in turn there are growing numbers of young people who want to volunteer their services saying that they want to give something back, to help others and to say thank you to Barnardo’s for giving them back the future they deserve.
