Carlisle South Children's Centres

Barnardo’s Carlisle South Sure Start Children’s Centres builds on the good practice of Sure Start local programmes. We are responsive to local needs and work in partnership with local parents, communities and providers to offer the best possible opportunities to children in the local area.

Carlisle South Sure Start Children’s Centres provide services to children, young people and their families living in:

• Harraby
• Botcherby
• Upperby
• St Aidan’s
• Currock.

We are committed to:

• establishing effective partnerships between families and professionals
• providing good quality childcare and play provisions
• pro-actively promoting positive parenting
• establishing community based support networks
• promoting healthy lifestyles and choices
• supporting families in order to achieve their ambitions and potential.

To achieve these aims we work with many different agencies which include:

• health
• local housing associations
• childcare providers and local support groups.

Carlisle South Sure Start Children’s Centre’s main office is based at Petteril Bank School. We also have staff based at Harraby Community Centre, Barnardo’s Community House on Welsh Road and Botcherby Children's Centre on Ennerdale Avenue.
