The Forestry Commission
Glenmore Forest was bought by the Forestry Commission in 1923 and extends to over 3,500 hectares with half of the area exposed as open hill. At the centre is the picturesque Loch Morlich which is the first and only inland loch to secure a Rural Beach Award.
Glenmore holds one of the few remaining pockets of ancient Caledonian Pinewood and major work is underway to preserve and expand this important habitat for future generations. You can find out more about this stunning region on the Glenmore Forest Park website.
