Help us to always be here

At Barnardo’s we believe in children and young people – no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through. We ensure their needs are met and their voices heard.

  • KatieKatie is the sole carer for her mum who was diagnosed with vascular dementia The long hours, the big responsibility and not to mention the emotional turmoil became a lot to handle. Katie was introduced to a Barnardo’s Project Worker who has helped her get support for her mum and now she is able to study at university to become a teacher.
  • LouiseLouise suffered with anxiety after the birth of her first child. She first started visiting a Barnardo’s children’s centre for support and parenting advice five years ago. The support from Barnardo's increased her self-esteem, helped her family bond, helped her children interact with others and helped her eldest son overcome behavioural problems.
