What we do
The Break-Away and Dudley Shared Care Project has been finding foster homes for children/young people who have physical and or learning disabilities since 1985.
We believe every child should be given the opportunity to experience family life, whatever the nature of their disability. Every child has the right to a happier, more fulfilled life – if only they had a family to help them achieve their potential.
Break-Away Long Term Care
Break-Away Project provides long-term/permanent family based placements for children aged between 0 and 18 years who have learning disabilities, severe learning disabilities and or physical disabilities. The service also provides family based short breaks, sitters and befrienders for children and young people living with their long-term foster carers.
Where it is deemed to be in the best interest of the children, a sibling or siblings may be placed with a specific child. The sibling(s) may not have a disability.
Bridging and short notice placements
Break-Away provides family based placements which will meet the individual child’s specific needs, be it on a time limited or bridging placement or a short notice on an emergency basis. The child will be aged between 0 and 18 years with learning disabilities an or physical disabilities.
Dudley short break care
To create the opportunity for disabled children to have regular breaks: the service is provided via family based short break care, sleepovers, sitting, befriending or day care in the child’s home or local community.
