What we do
In partnership with Blackpool Council, Lancashire County Council, Wyre Borough Council, Workding Families Everyshwere and Fair Share, we offer a wide variety of services reflective of Barnardo’s overarching aims and local circumstances:
- helping children, young people and families make their lives better and fulfil their potential
- helping families cope with a wide range of issues including poverty, abuse and homelessness
- promoting the involvement of children, young people and their families in community life - helping them to identify issues in the community they feel strongly about and to devise solutions that will contribute to local regeneration
- making sure that children can make the most of their childhood, whatever the circumstances.
Floating Support (HOST - Blackpool)
The service enables people of all ages and from whatever backgrounds who live within the Blackpool Council boundaries to access and sustain independent accommodation. We help and support people across all housing tenures including owner-occupied, private and social-rented.
What do we do?

- drop in sessions for advice
Play Services (Blackpool)
Offers play, sports and informal educational activities for children and young people aged 8 to 12.
What do we do?
- groups – a range of groups offers play, sport, games and occasional project work.
- different programmes run during term-time and school holiday
Working Families Everywhere (Family Champions - Blackpool)
Workless families who wish to access employment and who need some support in order to do so.
What do we do?
- assessment – used to identify support required.
- one-to-one support – to address issues identified during the assessment and support individuals to achieve their aspirations.
VulnerableYoung Person's work - Fair share (Blackpool)
Offers support and guidance in particular addressing issues of under-age drinking and teenage pregnancy to target vulnerable young people aged 19 years and under, providing them with skills and knowledge to make informed decisions and therefore positive life choices.

- one to one support to address issues identified.
- Teens and Toddlers Programme
Early Intervention Family Support, Wyre
TheEarly Intervention Family Support team targets children, young people and families identified as needing additonal support and ensures that they receive support when they need it, thus building resistance and preventing the need for statutory intervention.
What do we do?
- assessment – used to identify support required by families
- one-to-one support – to address issues identified during the assessment
- drop-in Sessions – for parents and young people to call in to discuss issues and access the service.
Wyre Family Intervention Project (F.I.P)
Support families who have issues with anti-social behaviour, within the community or their immediate family that affect their housing situation.
What we do?
- assessment – used to identify support required
- intensive family and one to one support – to address issues identified at assessment
- multi –agency working to reduce anti-social behaviour and support families affected by it
- advocate – Support families to have a voice.
Volunteering
The project offers volunteering opportunities for people of all ages and from a range of backgrounds who freely give their time in many different ways, including helping in the office, gardening, supporting childcare and the delivery of play activities.
What do we do?
- recruit, train and support volunteers to undertake a variety of roles.
VulnerableYoung Person's work - Lancashire Targeted Youth Support Lancaster and Fylde & Wyre
Offers support and guidance in particular addressing issues of under-age drinking and teenage pregnancy to target vulnerable young people aged 19 years and under, providing them with skills and knowledge to make informed decisions and therefore positive life choices.
What do we do?

- one to one support to address issues identified
NEET work - Lancashire Targeted Youth Support Preston and Fylde & Wyre
Offers support and guidance in particular to young people aged 19 years and under who are no in education, employment or training. Providing them with skills and knowledge to make informed decisions and therefore positive life choices.
