Fundraise
Children love the pride and achievement of fundraising and collecting sponsorship.
We would love to hear your great fundraising ideas, so share them with us by emailing big.toddle@barnardos.org.uk and we will feature the best on the site!
In the meantime, here are a selection of our favourite fundraising tips to help your toddlers with their fundraising efforts:
- if you are a nursery, early-year group, or individual you can set up your own online fundraising page
- if your company is taking part in the Barnardo’s Corporate Big Toddle 2009 and you want to set up or join a group, check out our special Corporate fundraising pages
- get your family to donate generously at the beginning; it will encourage others to do the same
- collect the money straight away; this will save you chasing it afterwards
- get work colleagues, clients and your company to sponsor your child - many employers will match any money their employees raise for charity, so why not see if your company will do the same?
- have some fun before you Toddle – bake cupcakes, do some face painting or hold a fancy dress party - the money you raise goes towards your final total!
- make your Toddle even bigger – ask your nursery to join in the fun. It can be part of a sports day, and is a great way of getting to know the other parents
- remember to say a massive ‘thank you’ to everyone who donates
This is how your money could make a difference:
£25 could provide outdoor toys, giving children living in bed and breakfasts the essential exercise they need
£120 could pay for a troubled child’s first vital counselling sessions
£300 covers the cost for a child to spend two weekends with a specialist carer, giving their parent much-needed time with the rest of their family
£500 enables the running of ten community groups for children living in disadvantaged areas
