Running your own event

Running your own Toddle event gives you total creative freedom to make your Big Toddle as action-packed or as simple as you want. The sky's the limit with this year's Superhero theme or you can choose not to have a theme at all. You can also Toddle at any time of the year, outside or indoors.

Most people who organise their own Big Toddle do so with a nursery group or with friends. But why not make your Big Toddle even bigger by opening it up to other toddlers in your community?

Whatever size event you choose here are some ideas to make your Toddle extra special:

Before your Toddle

• Create your superhero costumes together before the event.
• Invite parents along. It's a great way to get to know local parents and will help with your fundraising if they feel more involved.
• Make flags and a finishing line to create a sense of achievement.
• Read the children the Big Todd’s Superhero Adventure storybook, enclosed in your pack, just before your Toddle.

On your Toddle day

• Create a Superhero training camp to get your Toddlers into a super-mood. See page 7 of your guide to find out how.
• Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It’s SuperTed. Hold a Super-teddy bears’ picnic after your Toddle, with teddy bears dressed up as superheroes.
• Get your Toddlers powered-up with some of our fun-packed superhero activities. See page 7 of your guide to find out how.
• If you want to make your day bigger and better than ever you could always join together with other parents or nurseries in your area and hold a great Big Toddle. You can use the Toddle Facebook page to make contact.
