Now start to collect your treasure! Children love the pride and achievement of getting sponsorship from friends and family.

In the meantime, here’s what you need to do to help your little pirates collect their gold bullions and bars:

• set yourself a fundraising target. See what your efforts can do
• use our fundraising envelope and download extra sheets in English or Welsh
• and/or use an online fundraising page
• remember to get your UK taxpayer donors to Gift Aid donations
• last but not least boost your donations with some of the following ideas…

Big boosters to make your treasure even bigger

• get close friends and family to donate generously at the beginning; it will encourage others to do the same
• collect the money straight away; this will save you chasing it afterwards
• get work colleagues, clients and your company to sponsor your child - many employers will match any money their employees raise for charity, so why not see if your company will do the same?
• take in a collection box to work and ask for contributions, for example for a dress down day or for every time a particular word or phrase is mentioned (such as 'let's run that up the flag pole!')
• have some fun before you Toddle – bake piratey cakes, do some pirate face painting or make Jolly Roger flags and eye patches
• make your Toddle even bigger – ask others to join in the fun. It can be part of a sports' day, birthday party or mums' race, and is a great way of getting to know the other parents
• remember to say a massive ‘thank you’ to everyone who donates.
