How can we help?

Who does Barnardo’s Beyond the Shadows project work with?
As well as working directly with young people, we will work in partnership with staff from any agency coming into contact with young people, and with parents or carers.
What do we offer young people?
We are committed to challenging exploitation and offering a service within a safe environment to children and young people. We will listen to you and respect your views and feelings.
We offer:

- housing advice
- a confidential free phone helpline
- help to find a safe way out.
Where appropriate we can refer you on to more specialist services to deal with other issues in your life such as help with accommodation.
What do we offer parents or carers?
- advice to any parent or carer who has concerns that their child might be, or is being, sexually exploited
- help in identifying the indicators that a young person might be sexually exploited
- advice on how to help a child or young person exit an exploitative situation
- information about other relevant agencies and how to contact them
- we will work with the child or young person in their care.
What do we offer those who work with children or young people?
- help in identifying young people at risk of sexual exploitation
- advice on how to help young people exit an exploitative situation
