Bristol BASE Project

Bristol BASE Project (Barnardo’s against sexual exploitation) works with young people who are at risk of sexual exploitation or who are being sexually exploited. We offer practical help to young people to help them deal with immediate difficulties they face. We then support young people to think about their lives and the relationships and situations they face, so that they make better decisions to keep themselves safer and healthier.

Bristol BASE supports young people and children. We also provide advice and information to young people who run away from home. Young people do not have to have contact with a BASE worker - they choose to see their worker.

Since starting in 1995, BASE has been evaluated as an effective service that helps young people reduce the level of risk in thier lives. BASE works closely with a wide range of other organisations to tackle the sexual exploitation of young people in Bristol.
