How we can help
Universal services

These don’t need a formal referral. Just ring the family centre to let the staff know which service(s) you are interested in. They will take your details and will be happy to tell you more.
Targeted services - groups
You can register your wish to attend these groups of events by filling in specific forms. Ring the family centre and ask for a form to be sent to you. You will normally be asked to provide details such as your name, address and any special needs that you or your family might have.
Intensive services

These require a referral form completed by a referring agency. If you think you might need an intensive service, talk to one of the following people who can make a referral on behalf of families:
- health: health visitors, child and family therapists
- education: education welfare officers, educational psychologists, behaviour support teacher
- social services: social workers
- Barnardo’s: project worker.
If you aren’t sure who the best person is to make the referral, ring the centre and talk to a member of staff.
