Frequently asked questions
1. Can I get to the centre if I haven't got transport?
For some groups we have places on our minibus. Places are limited so need to be booked.
2. What if someone in the family has a disability?
We are happy to discuss individual needs to help everyone access services. The building has disabled access and a loop system is available for those who are deaf or hearing impaired.
3. Will my child be safe at the centre?
We are very safety conscious and have lots of checks in place to ensure children's and everyone's safety. All staff and volunteers are vetted and have training. And all the staff have child protection training.
4. What about records? How do I know that things will be kept confidential?
All information about families is kept in strictest confidence by staff and volunteers. We use a computer system and information is protected under the data protection act 1998. If we think it would be helpful to share information with others (eg, a health visitor, doctor or social worker) we will tell you the reasons for this and ask your consent. We have a duty to share information with social services if we think a child is at risk of abuse or neglect.
