The Akwaaba centre in Deptford, South East London supports children and families from diverse cultural, religious, economic and minority ethnic groups.
The children who attend the centre are supported through the High/Scope curriculum in developing their full potential through a planned programme of daily play activities.
Parents and carers are supported in further developing their skills and knowledge in parenting and personal development via group work and individual support. General interests are also promoted on a needs-led basis, for example via access to computer equipment for their use which gives them access to online training, advice and information. Parents and carers can also attend various training courses that are available at the centre.
